I believe that the path of personal growth through psychotherapy will eventually lead to more spiritual dimensions such as interest in meditation, yoga, and similar practices. As we become less influenced by our history, wounds, traumas and repressed feelings, we naturally open up to dimensions that are transpersonal in nature and focused on service and generativity.
One of the most profound spiritual paths I have discovered for myself is Waking Down founded by Saniel Bonder and Linda Groves-Bonder. This is a transmission-based process that has the effect of bringing one’s awareness deeper into the body where life can be lived in the “sensual delight of being alive”. The awareness of pure consciousness also becomes heightened, so that both spirit and matter are integrated in the divinely human dance that we are.
